Smart-PHONE choices: Specs , Software, After Sales!

Specs:

I think many of your agree that when making smartphone choices you always want to opt for the best specs for your phone in the budget that you have. Not everyone can afford high end specs but yeah companies like One Plus and Xiaomi makes them possible. Hardware specifications of a device are very important thing to consider. Like for example I think in 2016 the best phone for me was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, however sadly Samsung tried to push in way too many specs onto the device thereby maintaining the best product quality which failed in its battery compartment. 

Similarly there have been several rumours about the Moto G4 having overheating issues, even though it has a really good spec sheet. But yeah, I mean no one wants phones to heat like hell when they hold it on having it blow up in their pockets! So always go with good specs phones but also make sure they have been properly tested and used by a number of users and have no complaints. 

Software:

Ok so coming to the main part of any hardware device. Just to let all those fanboys whether android or iOS out there know the major difference between a best smartphone and an average one, its the Software! No doubt both iOS and Android are equally good operating systems iOS does perform much better than android in many ways primarily because of good memory management . Even with a 1 gig RAM iphone you can run tasks smoothly. But sometimes Apple goofs up by releasing some iOS updates which tends to make the OS buggy. 

Similarly android is a very good operating system, I think far more superior to iOS in terms of functionality, but there are lot of vulnerability issues always, as any kind of apps can be installed over the air or even through bluetooth of wifi. It all depends on how the Android Manufacturer handles this through their Android Distribution. Let me tell you that today Android market is only spoilt , yes SPOILT because every tom dick and harry Android Smartphone company puts in the best hardware specs and sucks big time at the software department. So its not the fault of Google or Android, but the fact that its open source and big companies destroy the software experience of Android by either not handling bugs or leaving it too vulnerable to issues. 

Let me give you one example of a good Android Smartphone and a really bad one. Apart from phones that are manufactured by Google , I think Motorola has a legacy of making the best stock Android phones and they never seem to lag in the software department as the OS is stock. When it comes to phones like Samsung with their TouchWiz UI , Asus with their Zen UI or Xiaomi with their MIUI, all have hell loads of Bloatware. This is the most shittiest part unless you can really optimise your OS. In this department One Plus has the best customised Android Experience and I don't think any Android Smartphone can even come close to competing with One Plus in both Hardware and Software. Im not a pro One Plus guy, but I am speaking hard facts here!

See what I am trying to imply is that one kind of Android OS should be ported to all devices, it makes it easier to launch new Android OTA updates. If google's stock android OS is launched, now Samsung has their touch wiz UI which has to work with this, so they take more time to release the same OS which otherwise could be done faster. That's why iOS is the best as one iOS version is released for all iOS devices at a go. So all iOS users are happy that they get the same stuff that others get. That's why those who love Software powered phones like Nexus series or iPhones etc will love to go with stock. 


After Sales!

This is the most important part of any Mobile Phone. LOL hell yeah many of you will agree with this. If you have got a shitty phone and it messes up , then you have got to take it to the service center. Problem number One: Service Centers are too far and too less! So even if you did have the best smartphones and the Service Centers are too far it does not make sense. For this, I think smartphone companies should go in with tele services, and resolve issues on phones. Or send someone over to the house where pickups can be done. Its more convenient for customers. 

Problem Number Two: Service Centers are not available 24x7 and 365 days a year. I mean cmon, if you Mobile Companies want to seriously sell tonnes of phones firstly you must have 24x7 service. I have had past experiences with many companies, where firstly the IVR seriously is a mess. Its easier if its an SMS based service or an online request. I think Ive come across Samsung and LG the big giants that offer this. But LG the service quality sucks big time yeah, Il probably share a blog on this on what a horrific experience I had. 

Problem Number Three: Service Centers have no response time, and customers are left to the mercy of God! In this department I do love Apple, coz when you walk in to an Apple Store, there is nothing like "Repair" for your phone under warranty. They just replace it for you , mostly on the spot. Not all companies offer this. But just to let you know, replacement phones are mostly "Refurbished" or "Used" and not Brand New. If the company is able to give you a brand new phone well and good. You must insist of giving a brand new one rather than refurbished. 

Problem Number Four: Stereotype replies. If you send an email or post on social media about a company and their poor service, you will always get static robotic replies like "Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our Team is working on it and will get back shortly." I mean seriously!? In this case one of the best customer service experience I had was from DBrand Skins recently. I ordered a set of skins for 75$, and for some reason my order got delayed and it was very kind of DBrand to give me a 20% off on my order due to the delay. These kind of stuff really count when you are looking to retain customers.
